Thank you everyone for your patience in me returning to my blogging. I have really missed it, but last week flew by so quickly that I simply ran out of time to put together the first of 4 videos that I have planned about my NYC trip!
(Why FOUR videos? I like to *try* to keep my YouTube videos to 3 minutes or less, so rather than one super long video I have broken it up! :))
If you follow my Instagram (@abeautifulstory) or Twitter (@beautstoryblog), you would’ve seen that I had an amazing time on my trip! It was a lot of fun, but also relaxing because we had the luxury of spending a couple of weeks in the one city. We had planned to go to Washington but had to cancel our plans due to the Government shutdown; all of the things we had wanted to see in DC were closed.
Meeting my extended family was really awesome too! 
I summed up my thoughts on NYC in an update on my personal Facebook page as follows:

I really enjoyed my trip and have learnt a lot, including:
If a subway carriage looks full, it IS full (I bounced out! lol).
Pedestrian crossings aren’t essential.
Pizza is a food group.
If you like something about someone, no matter who it is, tell them so! (Lost count of the # of random people who talked to me on the street, in stores and on the subway about my hair or clothes.)
Police like having their photo taken.
SMILE.
New Yorkers are some of the nicest and toughest people on the planet.
And, last but not least ~
Quirkiness, style preferences and one’s type of humour could well be genetic!
New York & ma famille, I heart you! I’ll be back… Hopefully sooner than later xxx

- Chatting to locals

- The museums and galleries, especially the Met and MoMA.
